Cancer doesn’t care. It doesn’t care about age. It doesn’t care about your family or friends. It doesn’t care about what it takes from us — or who it leaves behind, But I care. I care about making a difference in the future of cancer research and bringing an end to this devastating disease. That’s why I am participating in the 2023 Ride for Roswell.
“HERES MY STORY”
My name is Adam Draudt and in June of 2021, at the age of 40, I was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer called Multiple Myeloma. It is a cancer that builds up over time and weakens your bones to sometimes almost no repair.
Luckily, this was caught early enough where no significant damage was done, (for the most part). During this 8 month period, to get the cancer under control, I had to undergo extensive chemotherapy treatments. This treatment included, a bone marrow/stem cell harvest, stem cell transplant, and a massive dose of chemotherapy that completely wiped out my immune system. Luckily, the transplant was successful and my immune system is slowing coming back. While life will never return back to the old normal, my ‘new normal’ would not be possible without the treatments administered by Roswell Park. The doctors, nurses, and aides there ultimately saved my life and for that, me and my family are forever grateful. At this time, we are please to announce that I’m in full remission as of February 2022!
TOGETHER, WE CAN END CANCER!!
WE THANK U IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR GENEROSITY
