This was taken just a few days before Karen passed away
The Empire State Ride is more than a bike ride. This is a ride for me to honor my wife who found peace after a horrible fight against pancreatic cancer. When I signed up to ride, I was riding in support of her living her best life in the face of cancer. She could do that because of treatments that were made available to her. Those treatments could not stop this cancer, but they did give us time.
In July, I am cycling over 500 miles across New York State for the second time to end cancer. The first time I rode was in memory of my nephew Matthew who passed from leukemia. This time, I will also be riding in honor and in the memory of my wife Karen. Each day gives us a chancer to be grateful, to be thankful for what we have. I am grateful I was able to spend 30 years with her. I am hopeful that together, we can provide new treatments and support for those who will be working to live their best lives in the face of cancer.
Everyone knows someone whose life has been affected by cancer. This is my opportunity to make a difference and impact cancer research from the seat of my bike. Together, we can fuel groundbreaking discoveries and bring an end to this terrible disease.
Please consider donating to my efforts today. No donation is too small, and every dollar adds up to something greater than what any one of us could ever accomplish alone. Join me in making a difference.
