I hope anyone reading this is in good health, but will all know someone close to us who is not. Cancer is a horrible disease, it takes a toll on not only the patient but also their family and loved ones. Having cancer is never easy. Getting a haircut is.
I was someone who swam in high school, and did bald for bucks every year. Didn't think much of it at that point, I was just a kid and I was going to shave my head anyways, why not raise money for cancer research. I never realized those small things that we do, can be such a powerful force of good and positivity for those in need. What brought me back after high school was nothing short of a tragedy. A very close friend of mine died in a motorcycle accident. It was a very hard time for me and a lot of others. But my friend Freddy, was someone that always put way more good than bad into the world. I thought about how I could keep some of the good from him in the world, even if he could no longer be part of it. He was an eagle scout, a police officer and the best friend any person could ask for. Every time good is taken away from this world it is up to us to make put more good in. So it is for Freddy and my family who have battled cancer that I will be shaving my head. If you are able to, please donate.
Cancer sucks, but it does not mean that we have to.
