In 2021 I was inspired by my late Father-in-Law, Scott Hanel, to join the Ride for Roswell. Scott had battled cancer on and off for 30 years, and sadly passed away in the Spring of 2021. Scott was a frequent member of the Extra-Mile Club, and I made a mission to continue that tradition in his honor. 

In August 2022, my best friend, Adam Kreutinger, was diagnosed with Brain Cancer at 34 years old. He is a husband to a wonderful wife, and a father to two amazing children. He is a fantastic educator, and his a self-made man. He is the reason that I am a teacher today, and it is because of him that I have such drive to create projects and challenges for myself. (You know, I can't let him beat me! I got to give him a run for his money.) This year I dedicate my ride to him, and to all other young people who are just starting their lives, and are faced with this terrible disease. Please join me in my mission to reach "Extra-Mile Club" status for a third year in a row!
