Hi all - I have started the FB stage of my fundraising. In 2024 I am riding in memory of my brother Clifford Rogers who died in January 2024 after a 7-year battle with neuroendocrine cancer. This community-wide Ride for Roswell event will take place at the end of June - with the same goal - to attract people from all walks of life, and all with the same objective - to beat cancer. For some like me it is personal. My pharyngeal cancer treatment at RPCCC is now over seven years in the rear view mirror. I am riding to thank Roswell, but I am also riding for those who are fighting the good fight as you read this. For others it's about a bigger vision - to rid the world of this scourge that takes so many of us way too early. Over my many years of participation - thanks to so many of you - I have raised almost $140,000 to support the patients and research at RPCCC and expect to be over $155,000 this year.
I am cured because of the revolution in cancer research in the past decade. Researchers and physicians are beginning to understand the causes of cancer and are making inroads into new methods of prevention, diagnosis and treatment. All of us can be at risk for cancer. My cancer was caused by a virus; who knew? Like most of you I have dear friends who have been successfully treated, and I have lost family and friends to this disease. All of them will be in my thoughts as I ride.
Please help support me in this important project by contributing generously. Your tax-deductible contribution is greatly appreciated.
Whatever you can give will help – it all adds up!! Thank you for your support and I will keep you posted on my progress.
