CANCER. Cancer is one of the scariest words to hear, whether it is spoken directly to you or regarding someone you love.
I recently heard this word spoken, and it completely turned my whole world upside down.\u200b My beautiful Mother, my very best friend was recently told she has Mesothelioma. This horrible disease that has no cure, is once again a part of our world.
18 years ago, my Grandfather was diagnosed with Mesothelioma. Unfortunately at the time, there wasn't much that could be done for him. Sadly, soon after he was diagnosed he passed away.
Fast forward 18 years and thanks to the advancements in medicine my Mom was given the option of Surgery. A surgery that at this point will only buy her time. So on Feb 26, my Mom chose to go ahead with this 7 hour, invasive surgery. The thoracotomy was done successfully and now with a long road to recovery my Mom is still in Roswell recieving the care she needs.
None of this would have been possible without the generosity of those willing to donate their time and money to such an amazing cause. This year I have decided to join the fight and participate in The Ride For Roswell to honor my brave and amazing Mother, Nancy Hugaboom.
I am asking for your help, for me and my Mom and for everyone that is affected by this terrible disease. Please consider a donation if you are able, and please share and spread the word. But most appreciated would be to please say a prayer for my family and all those suffering!
Thank you so very much!
