As many of you know, my grandson, Colt, has been battling leukemia for over three years. He's been receiving treatments for this disease at Oishei Children's Hospital in Buffalo. Oishei is affiliated with Roswell Park, a nationally recognized cancer center.
Roswell, along with many corporate and individual sponsors, organizes a bicycle "Ride for Roswell" fundraiser every summer. This year's Ride takes place on Saturday, June 22. It will mark the third summer that I have participated.
There are several organized bike routes in the Buffalo area, where the vast majority of participants will be riding. I'll be doing a 10-mile ride, along with my son, Mike, daughter-in-law Chrissy, Colt, and Colt's younger brother, Jack, along with more than 30 other riders who have joined the Colt45 Strong! team.
Like our proudly displayed lawn sign says: We're "riding to end cancer!"
