For those of us who have lost a loved one to cancer we are hoping we can make a difference by finding a cure for this devastating disease.
This is why I am participating in the 2024 Ride for Roswell in Buffalo New York on Saturday, June 22nd! My husband Mark was from Buffalo and lost his fight against this terrible disease after 14 months, he was 53. Marks parents and uncle were all treated at the Roswell Cancer Center in Buffalo. It's so very important that Roswell continue to have funding for research to help those fighting this terrible disease.
Cancer not only took my husband, his parents, uncle, but it also took my brother in law, Lewis. Lewis had brain cancer and lost his battle a year before Mark. Roswell is doing great research for Glioblastoma, and has recently developed a new vaccine that has doubled the life expectancy in clinical trials. This is another reason why funding is so important, as further research is needed to identify these new vaccines.
My husband Mark was an amazing man and a great father. His son Lucas and daughter Ashley continue to share his love for life and and I know he would be so proud of them. I can still hear Mark say “born and raised in Buffalo, NY” and this warms my heart and it's why I'm taking part in this event to fight cancer.
I’m so honored to ride with family and friends at this years event! Please help me raise money to find a cure for those fighting this disease!
Thank you for your support! Becky S.
