One in two men and one in three women in America will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. With these statistics all of us  know someone close who has been affected by this pervasive disease. Progress has definitely been made and treatment methods have come a long way and yet there is still more to do to put an end to this disease. Working together we can help find better treatment leading to cures and more lives can be saved.   

I look forward to this ride every year for it allows me an opportunity to contribute to a cause that deeply impacted my family and continues to affect the lives of many friends and family members. In addition to making a contribution, I ride to honor my mother who never rode a bike, yet she always insisted that we do everything she wasn't able to do. This September I will turn 60 which means I have outlived my mother.
