I always knew cancer was not uncommon, but the commercials and PSA statements like "1 in 4 men are affected by Prostate Cancer" always seemed unrealistic. I thought they were more propaganda than fact. I knew there was some cancer in my family history, but it always seemed distant.

Since January, I learned how cancer has directly affected my close family and my in-laws. I now have a list of a dozen people who have cancer, and have been fighting this fight. Some of the people had sheltered me from the struggle, but now my eyes are more open.
