I'm very late starting this year for R4R.
Cancer doesn’t care. It doesn’t care about age. It doesn’t care about your family or friends. It doesn’t care about what it takes from us — or who it leaves behind.
Your tax-deductible donation will support cutting-edge cancer research and compassionate patient care programs at Roswell Park. In 2021, donations helped fund new research projects and allowed Roswell Park doctors to:
- Study of the role of immune system in anti-cancer activity of novel chemicals causing unpacking of DNA in tumor cells
- Study of a new blood test that may predict fatal cancer relapse after allogeneic blood or marrow transplantation
- A “Tag Team” approach to T-cell therapy in ovarian cancer. Engineering long-lived T-cells that attack tumors AND instruct the T-cells already in the tumor to fight cancer.
These promising initiatives are helping save patients' lives, but until we no longer fear a cancer diagnosis there is still more progress to be made
As one of those persons that has spent a “few hours” in RPCCC, I can tell you what a great facility Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is. I have been under the watchful eye of some great doctors, nurses & technicians here. My primary oncologist has been either consulting with the doctors at Roswell Park or been administering treatments there since I was diagnosed in 2005. They even have a dental clinic for their patients here at Roswell Park, as most dentists won’t have us as patients while under treatment.
I not only am a survivor & rider, but also volunteer at this event. I help with support on the road, fixing flat tires & rendering any assistance I can to the riders on the country routes
