Hi All,
This will be my first year riding in Ride for Roswell. I will be riding alongside my mom and her friends. There are many people that I will be riding for but there are two especially important people in my life who I will be honoring. The first is my grandfather, Robert Bielec, who was taken from our lives way too early after a battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Nothing will ever heal the pain it is to grow up without your grandfather but I know I am making him proud by raising awareness for a cure. The second person I am riding for is my mother-in-law, Rosely Ortega. She was just diagnosed with thyroid cancer this year and completed a successful surgery to remove three tumors in her back on May 4. She is a second mother to me and blessing in my life and I look forward to seeing her overcome this challenge!
Cancer doesn’t care. It doesn’t care about age. It doesn’t care about your family or friends. It doesn’t care about what it takes from us — or who it leaves behind.
But I care. I care about making a difference in the future of cancer research and bringing an end to this devastating disease. That’s why I am participating in the 2023 Ride for Roswell.
