Traphagen's Trail Ride for Brain Cancer is an inagural ride to support the efforts of finding better treatments and a cure for brain cancer.
Brain cancer is hard to treat, and no one talks about it. I started a podcast called Game On Glio to raise awareness of this rare disease and to help educate, support, and honor those on this path. I am a 44 year old widow. I lost my best friend and soulmate, my husband Mike less than one year ago to brain cancer. He was only 45. With that I am starting a cycling event to benefit Roswell Cancer Center's Neurology department in their fight against brain cancer, and my podcast partner Head for the Cure Foundation (through t-shirts sales for the event).
The cycling event will offer two loops (a 5.5 mile and a 10.5 mile loop) through the village of Hamburg, starting and ending at Parkside Park at the corner of Charlotte Ave and Parkside on October 30th, 2021--one year and a day from when my husband passed away. Maps will be uploaded to this page shortly. Riders may ride at their own pace, following google maps, phone gps, or Strava. After the ride, we will meet back in the park for food truck treats and to honor the legacy of Mike Traphagen. Roswell Staff will also be on site.
ALL funds to this page and for the event will support our efforts to fight brain cancer. I am supporting Roswell because they supported me and my husband, especially his last 5.5 weeks which were spent there. Please join me in this fight. Help me honor and memorialize Mike Traphagen and all those fighting brain cancer, along with their families and caregivers that support them and stand by them, by raising funds and awareness. And, join us for the ride and after it!
