It all began with a question at his father's wake..."Uncle Alex, will you play hockey with me?" From there it blossomed into an event we could never have imagined. On May 1st, 2021 the first Sal Balbi Memorial Hockey game was played and $8,000 was raised to support Sarcoma Research at Roswell.
Sal Balbi was diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma in 2017 and he fought for 4 years until he lost that fight on February 26th, 2021. He passed his love for hockey onto his son but was never able to take the ice with him. We play in Sal's memory and we are hosting the 2nd Annual Sal Balbi Memorial Game on July 15th, 2023.
You can join us and make a difference by donating to the cutting edge research and patient care programs at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Please consider making a donation today. No donation is too small, and every dollar adds up to something greater than any one of us could accomplish alone. Together, we can make an impact in this fight and say PUCK CANCER!
