March 11th, I along with my team, CBP Rough Riders, will be taking part in Roswell’s IceCycle.
I am riding for myself and for my sister. We have a history at Roswell from 2013 to present. We were diagnosed with breast cancer at young ages, multiple diagnosis’s and melanoma prior to that. The fight is forever and we will always do it together because that is how we roll.I chose the photos I chose because one is from Clara’s 1st bday, taken 27 days prior to Sheri’s diagnosis. We had no idea her life would change forever in a few weeks. The other is after her diagnosis but prior to starting treatment, again, prior to our minds, hearts, and souls changing forever. The third, well the third is because I miss our long thick pre-cancer hair!!!! Lol
I am also riding for a friend, Tim Jezioro. I have a long history with the Jezioro family since childhood, working for Mr. Frank and Mr. John, his uncles and playing softball with his cousins Denise and Colleen as kids. Their family is as tough as they are good and Tim is proving that. He is currently at Roswell battling stage 3 oral cancer. He underwent a 17 hour surgery 2/1 and was up and walking around Roswell while in ICU by 2/4. His last drain came out today and he comes home Monday. His determination to conquer his battle is amazing. He is legit an inspiration for all. He has a long road of treatment ahead. His benefit is the day of the ice cycle so I will be thinking of him. Kaisertown strong Tim, it is in our blood. With cancer comes a need to rest, scream, cry…take it all in and then rest some more but then we get up and we fight our dupas off. I know Tim will do just that.
