I’m taking on this challenge again, to push myself to make a difference for cancer research. I’m participating in a cycling challenge outside in chilly Buffalo. Winter in Buffalo is tough, but you know who is tougher? Cancer patients and those affected by cancer. So, I’m doing this for them.
One out of three Americans will develop cancer sometime in their lifetime.
In 2018, my brother Charles “Chaz” Martin lost his battle with CML (Chronic Myeloid Leukemia). He battled this disease alone and on his own terms. Last year, I rode in memory of his courage and strength! This year, I ride in memory of Jon Snitzer, a very special, brave young man who lost his battle in January 2022.
Additionally, I ride to honor the fight of a dear friend, Mike Wulkan. He is currently in treatment and battling everyday! He is strong, and he is funny, but he is battling hard! In his honor, and in their memory, I ride!
Funds raised through this event support the expansion of cancer genetic services and research at Roswell Park. Any donation is appreciated! Thank you!
