Thank you for visiting our 2022 Ride for Roswell team page!
As you know, our dad, Tom Nicholas, was diagnosed in February 2021 with Multiple Myeloma. Multiple Myeloma is a blood cancer; those mutated cells take over in the bone marrow, and there’s no room for healthy blood cells. It was a long, terrifying, and bumpy road since then - immunotherapy, a failed stem cell transplant, a bacterial infection, a respiratory infection, inpatient chemo therapy, constant labs, tests, blood transfusions, and so many visits to Roswell we lost count.
In February of 2022, we learned that our dad was no longer responding to any treatment. Our focus then began on prolonging his life through blood tranfusions and making as many memories as possible with our family. Every day together was a gift. On April 29, 2022, our dad passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.
Many of us have ridden in the Ride for Roswell before (as has our dad!), but this is the first year we have decided to start our own team, named Nicholas Strong, to honor Nix’s incredible, incredible life. If there is anything we've learned over the past 14 months, it's that we cannot do this without the love, support and strength of our family and friends.
Please consider a donation or joining the team with us! NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE!
