Also, please meet our 2024 Ride honoree, Kathleen Gibbons. We are most humbled to be riding in Kathleen's honor. Here's a little something she would like to share with you all:

Hi. My name is Kathy Gibbons and I'm delighted to be your 2024 Roswell Donor Center Ride for Roswell honoree!

 I moved here to attend the University at Buffalo where I earned a degree in Chemistry and where I also met my husband Jim (Go Bulls!). Upon graduation, we settled into a wonderful neighborhood in North Buffalo, where we've raised two daughters and enjoyed the rich fabric of life found here in Western New York.

My career in the adhesives industry provided the opportunity for global travel where I advised manufacturing facilities in quality compliance. Upon retirement, Jim and I have been able to enjoy long trips across the USA and Europe and have served as volunteers in the Oishei Hospital program for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

In July 2023, I began my Roswell Journey after being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a life-changing moment for sure.  I put my faith in the Leukemia and Transplant/Cellular Therapy practices and in October 2023 received a Bone Marrow Transplant via Roswell's affiliation with Be the Match. Over the past 10 months, countless blood and platelet donations have kept me alive, giving my new bone marrow a chance to grow and produce on its own.

Fast forward to today, I wouldn't be here without these donations or the care and expertise of the teams in 5W, 5N, 5E, 8W and 6N. It will be a grand day when I Ring the Bell and celebrate with my fellow survivors.

 I look forward to experiencing with you the 2024 Ride for Roswell on June 22nd.
