Thank you for visiting our team page. This is much more than a bike ride- its our commitment to create a world where no one has to fear a cancer diagnosis.
Cancer is a horrible disease that has touched all our lives in some way. We now have an opportunity to come together to make a difference. You can support our team by riding with us or by donating.
As of March 20, 2024 my brother Johnny will be celebrating 23 years of remission. He endured two and a half years of chemotherapy, over 25 spinal taps and on his final day of treatment he asked his doctor if he can play football. He began playing 1 week after all his treatments where completed. Football is his passion; he even has a trophy in his honor through West Seneca West Little Loop "The Biggest Heart Award" for never giving up and always giving his 100% and he continues to play to this day.
Not only has my immediate family been affected by cancer, but my extended family has as well. Cancer knows no boundaries and unfortunately shows up more often than we would like. It has devastated many families of people we all know and love.
It's moments like these- the ones that remind me of how fragile life is, how powerful and victorious it can be, how supportive and loving family and friends are, and how important it is to fully live and cherish all the beauty the world has to offer. Life is extraordinary and with many means no one can understand and should never be taken for granted.
For the above reason is why I had such a drive to become a nurse, and I had succeeded in just that, I have my dream job as an oncology nurse at Roswell Park. As a nurse you create a work family, as meaningful as your life at home. And this is why I am creating this team, to ride for everyone's life who has been struck by cancer.
Whether you choose to join our team or donate, YOU are making a difference in the fight against cancer
