Winter in Buffalo is tough, but you know who is tougher? Fighters like Dan Yoviene and his parents, Dave and Karen. I'm cycling on ice, in honor of Dan, this Saturday. Join me as a show of force fighting behind and beside Dan and his family.
Dan has been staring down AML Leukemia for a year and a half. Despite chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, and a ton of radiation, the cancer cells have survived. Every time Dan and his family thought they had beat the disease, it reappeared somewhere else.
Dan Yoviene loves sports, especially football and hockey. He's on the sidelines of every game as a true-blue Buffalonian super fan! But Dan's love isn't only as a spectator in the big leagues! After High School Dan assisted Coach Turner with Hamburg School Modified Football. As Dan's health declined, he still took to the stands to support his HS home team!
It is fitting that collectively we honor Dan in a show of sportsmanship on the ice to remind him that he doesn't battle this fight alone! Together, we can change the future of cancer as we know it!
Thank you,
G Zemer
