Throughout my years I have had friends come and friends move away.....pass away...get married and lose touch but 57 years ago I met my very best friend Carmen Carcoba (Ricchiazzi) we did everything together truly Best Friends. Throughout the years we made our 1st holy communions together...walked to school everyday together.....made our confimations together....met our 1st boyfriends together.....traveled and shared many memories. Carmen n I never lost touch. We talked and shared experiences on a monthly including our weekly lunches together for the past few year. We worked 2 blocks apart and would meet for lunch once a week. I miss my friend every day. My second best friend Julia Wilson was also my go to friend we could talk about anything and for hours. Julia loved going to the Casino and would ask on my days off if we could go (Julia didn't drive) I would pick her up and she was like a little kid on Christmas!! There were times Julia, Carmen and I would get together and they became good friends also. Then Julias cancer came back and Carmens cancer advanced. Both of my friends put up a tough battle and they were both tired of the battle. Then on a cloudy afternoon April 2nd Carmens husband Philip called me and told me that Carmen lost her battle. At that moment the sun peaked thru the clouds. I knew Carmen was home! I went to call our friend Julia and left her a msg to call me. I never heard back and the following day we were suppose to go to antique world and I called Julia to tell her I was on my way. No response! I then received a msg from Julias sister Susan......Julia also passed away. The sun again broke thru the clouds and I knew at that my two Best Friends were home and at peace...no more illness...no more treatments. Thank you Roswell for keeping my Besties here for that extra time we had together. I am doing my Ride for Roswell as my way to say Thank you and keep my friends memories alive!
