This year, I'm riding in memory of my incredible father-in-law, Michael Porzio. This photo is from last February on the night of our engagement. He was so happy to be able to be there with us that night, after being in and out of the hospital last January. Though he won't physically be at our wedding this July, we are able to find comfort in knowing he was able to still be a part of it. I think every nurse at Roswell knew about the proposal before I did...he was so proud and excited that his son was getting engaged.
Unfortunately, after a hard-fought battle with multiple myeloma, we lost Mike at Roswell last May.
His cancer journey started in April 2021 and he stayed positive, strong, and hopeful through it all. Roswell was a game-changer for our family. They went above and beyond to help Mike for those two years, as they do for every single patient every single day, and we are eternally grateful.
Please support us in giving back, so Roswell can continue their best care for many others.
Missing you every day, Mike. We love you!

One out of three Americans will develop cancer sometime in their lifetime.
That's why I'm taking on a challenge to push myself to make a difference for cancer research. I'm participating in a cycling challenge outside in chilly Buffalo. Winter in Buffalo is tough, but you know who is tougher? Cancer patients and those affected by cancer. So, I'm doing this for them.
Funds raised through this event supports the expansion of cancer genetic services and research at Roswell Park. Will you donate to my IceCycle challenge? We can make a difference together.
