For countless years, my family has participated in the Ride for Roswell. In the past, we rode to honor the memory of my grandmother, Barbara Kramer, and my grandpa, Irv Shuman, both of whom lost their battle with cancer.
This year, my participation in the Ride for Roswell has a particularly personal element. This year, we will be riding in memory of my mom, who lost her battle with Lymphoma in February.
My mother was not only a light in my life but in the lives of everyone she touched. She was a constant source of joy, kindness, wisdom, and grace. She taught me what it means to be a friend, sibling, partner, and, most importantly, a good person. While I know that the pain of her loss will be with me forever, I also know that her love and the lessons she taught me will stay with me forever.
Funds raised through The Ride for Roswell support cutting-edge research and innovative, compassionate patient care programs at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
If you are able, please consider donating to my ride this year. Together we can help find cures and save lives.
