It was 20 years ago this June that I participated in the Team in Training 26.2 mile marathon for Leukemia - What an experience!
I ran the race and raised money to try to find a cure for leukemia. I wore the names of two people on my shirt - a young boy I didn't know, and my niece, Erin. I have lost touch with the young boy, but Erin is a survivor in every way possible. Although she has been in remission from Leukemia, she has had many other health challenges throughout the years, and continues to battle everyday! She is an extremely strong 40 year old woman.
Here we are in 2024 and so many friends, family members and others are still being diagnosed with various cancers every day. I have watched the effects on the patients, family members and loved ones. It is no joke!
I am proud to be able to once again "Ride for Roswell." I do this, not only because I can, but because I want to!
I have been fortunate to have so many supporters in years past, and I ask you to once again consider a gift in honor, memory, of just because you want to! You are making a difference and I know all those being challenged with the disease appreciate your support!
Thanks much!
