Last year was my first Ride For Roswell. Little did I know at that time that Roswell Park would become an important part of my life in the following year. It served as our hope, our support system, our home for 3 weeks, and the place we spent our sudden, yet cherished final days with our beautiful mom. The care my family and mom received from the hospital in those horrific days, is why I’m riding for Roswell.
I’m dedicating this years ride to my mom. For the woman who shaped her daughters and granddaughters to be leaders, to put family above all else, and to always maintain a sense of humor. Who paved the way for women to not only be apart of the conversation, but to be decision makers in the room. Who showed us, you can be faced with indescribable grief and loss in life, and find strength and resilience to press on.
If you knew my mom, you knew you were fortunate. Her eternal optimism, her work ethic, her joy in everyday life positively impacted everyone around her. This is the first of many rides in honor of my beautiful mom, our Yaya. I’ll be riding across the border on the 44 mile Canadian route, remembering all of the summers she cherished at the beach with her family and friends.
Thank you for donating towards my 2023 Ride for Roswell.
