Thank you for visiting my page. 2023 marks my third year participating as a Ride for Roswell rider. I will join my Team Roswell Park Cessation Services (Team RPCS) teammates in biking 10 miles on Saturday, June 24. No donation is too small, and every contribution is immensely appreciated!
WHY I RIDE: In the past four years, I have lost three loved ones due to cancer. Mary Hayward battled ovarian cancer and passed away in May 2021. She is the sister of Patti Bax -- my supervisor and a fellow Team RPCS rider. Patti and Mary are forever the "Bills Mafia Sisters," as dubbed by Lorenzo Alexander #57, pictured with my son Alex at the Team RPCS bowling fundraiser in 2019. David Schwartz was one of the funniest guys I knew, and worked as a supervisor for the New York State Smokers' Quitline -- where I work. He also was a fellow Toastmaster. And finally, Linda Imiola is my cousin. She passed away from lung cancer, yet never smoked. Mary, David, and Linda were all in their 40's and 50's.
Cancer is insidious and does not discriminate. Through fundraising events like the Ride for Roswell, we can conduct more research, develop better treatments, and eventually find a cure. My sincere gratitude for your support.
