20 years ago my mother passed away on September 18th 2004 after losing her battle to cancer. Although I was only 7 years old at the time, I was aware of the fact that such a bright light had left this world and it altered my life completely. I miss her and in the 20 years since she has passed there isn’t a day that has gone by where I do not think about her.
With the anniversary of her passing approaching I have been thinking about how to best honor her memory. My mother was such a kind, caring, and compassionate woman. She would light up an entire room with her smile or her infectious laugh. Hearing stories and memories of her from family, friends, and loved ones truly testifies how amazing of a woman she was and how she is missed by so many.
And so to honor her memory, I have decided to participate in the Ride for Roswell with a goal of raising $2000. That money will help to fund cancer research at Roswell Park and to support the thousands of patients who enter Roswell each year. For every dollar donated, Roswell Park is now able to leverage an additional $23 from external grant towards research that could one day save lives. Please consider donating to my fundraiser, no amount is too small and every donation is immensely appreciated. Thank you.
