Cancer is bigger than all of us.
After working at Roswell for almost four decades, I’ve come to know cancer on a personal level. Treating thousands of patients over the years and seeing how cancer has affected not only them, but those closest to them, I’ve decided to do the Ride for Roswell to put my passion into action.
We all know someone inflicted by cancer, whether it be a family member, neighbor or friend. Cancer is a disease that does not discriminate, and affects us all.
This year, the battle became personal to me and my family. Recently, my wife, Karen, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Working in the field, I have fought the fight alongside my patients, but now the fight has come home to me. Cancer hit my family by surprise, it didn’t run genetically—reaffirming the point that cancer does not discriminate in its infliction.
Now you may be asking, what IS the Ride for Roswell? My journey for the Ride for Roswell is a 20 mile bike ride across Western New York. The purpose of this bike ride is to raise awareness and support for those who are currently battling cancer, whose will battle cancer and who are no longer with us because of cancer. Not only is this awareness for research, but also for support and other services that patients or family may require. In order to make this happen, we are counting on your support through donations. My personal goal is to raise $1,000. I would be remarkably grateful for any amount support that you may choose to give.
Thank you
