The Ride for Roswell is so important to the Western New York community. We all care about making a difference in the future of cancer research and bringing an end to this devastating disease.
What many people don't realize is that Roswell Park was the very first center in the U.S. to focus on cancer research. Today, Roswell Park is at the forefront of cancer research and treatment and recently earned the highest rating possible - 'exceptional' - from the National Cancer Institute. Fewer than 4% of comprehensive cancer centers have earned this top rating. I am so proud to work for this amazing institution!
As a research coordinator at Roswell, I have seen first-hand the impact of funds raised by the Ride for Roswell. One way fundraising dollars are used is to support critical pilot studies that pave the way for larger, more impactful research studies. In my position, I have helped to develop programs to support parents and other caregivers as they navigate the challenges of caring for a child with cancer.
Like so many people, my life has been touched by cancer. I will be riding in the 2024 Ride for Roswell in memory of my Aunt Linda, who died from breast cancer, and my cousin, Elaine, who died from esophageal cancer.
Help me fund lifesaving research, treatment, and prevention programs at Roswell Park! I greatly appreciate any donation, of any size, to my Ride for Roswell fundraiser. Thank you so much for your support!
