For the 5th year, I will be participating in the Ride for Roswell on June 25! I am proud to be on the Rad.Med. Xfactor team, Riding 20 miles again this year. I humbly ask you to consider making a donation to support research funded by Roswell Park. Cancer has been such a huge part of my life that it impacts who I am. It has taken so many people from me, and has changed the lives of so many others. I will always have a passion to help cure cancer.
I’m privileged to ride with 2 special survivors on my team - my husband Victor (prostate cancer) and my sister-in-law Barb (ovarian cancer). I’m truly blessed to have them in my life. This year is a great year of celebration for us as Victor will ring the bell at Roswell - after 10 years, he will be considered “cured”!!!
This year, my Ride will have a new meaning as I Ride in honor of a newly diagnosed friend - John Rodgers, Jr. John volunteered in our office and worked on projects for a while because his dad was the Chairman of our Board. He’s a smart, caring, fun man who has a beautiful wife and three children. He is currently undergoing treatment for lymphoma at Roswell. His dad, John Rodgers, Sr. was on my Board for over a decade and served in numerous leadership positions, always going above and beyond the call of duty to insure the Chapter’s success. His dedication was unbelievable, especially because, at that time, he didn’t have a personal connection to blood cancer. Now he does. Hopefully the hundreds of thousands of dollars he raised throughout the years has had an impact in helping develop the treatment that his son is now receiving at Roswell Park. My prayers are with the Rodgers family as they navigate through their cancer journey.
As always, I also dedicate my ride to the memory of my parents, George and Dolores Hails, my best friend and sister Kathy, my cousin Ginny, my in-laws Mike and Anna Burgio and so many family and friends I have lost to cancer. They are sadly missed every day. I will also ride in honor of so many family and friends who are cancer survivors. They all mean so much to me, and are true heroes! I pray for their continued health.
Thank you for joining the fight against cancer, and for your past support throughout the years - I truly appreciate all of you!
