My ride this year is going to be a little different. It’s going to feel a little heavier and a little more special at the same time.
In late 2022, a tumor was found on my aunts bile duct. She had been in and out of the hospital leading up to her surgery in early 2023. There were some amazing doctors at Roswell taking care of her. On January 4th, 2023, one day after surgery, my beautiful Aunt Lori was called back home to be an Angel.
This year, I am fundraising and riding for my aunt. I am fundraising for research for bile duct cancer, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. My aunt was such an amazing woman. She was one of the most caring and generous people I’ve ever known. She is missed everyday by so many people.
I am also riding in memory of grandma Dirschberger who passed in 2009 from pancreatic cancer. Also, in honor of my dad who was diagnosed with leukemia and has lived with it, still very much healthy, for over 10 years, and for the love of my life, my amazing boyfriend who kicked leukemias ass as a little kid.
I care about making a difference in the future of cancer research and bringing an end to this devastating disease. That’s why I am participating in the 2023 Ride for Roswell!
Please help me raise critically needed funds to support the thousands of patients who turn to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center for hope each year. Your donation provides funding that researchers need in order to investigate new treatment options that could save lives in our community and around the world. For every dollar donated, Roswell Park can leverage an additional $13 in new grant funding!
Please consider making a donation today to help find cures. Together, we can make a difference.
