This year I’m riding in honor of two of the strongest women I know.
My sister Alicen is a breast cancer survivor who has endured countless treatments and surgeries over the last 2 1/2 years, and still fights to this day to keep herself healthy and strong. Alicen was diagnosed with breast cancer at just 39 years old, a few months after her daughter turned a year old. She has endured and thrived through some of the hardest days of her life, but she will tell you - her fight is for her family. This ride is just one small way I can support her in everything she's been through, and all the challenges that come with being a survivor.
My mother-in-law beat cancer not just once but TWICE, overcoming thyroid and lung cancer.
My goal this year is to raise a minimum of $1,000, with a stretch goal of raising $2,500 and qualifying for the Peloton ride. The Peloton ride is a police-escorted, 12-mile procession from Roswell Park to University at Buffalo’s North Campus. It officially kicks off the Celebration of Hope and the Ride for Roswell.
Will you help me reach my fundraising goal and support our fight against cancer?
