Thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page for #RFR22!
As you know, my dad, Tom Nicholas, was diagnosed in February 2021 with Multiple Myeloma. Multiple Myeloma is a blood cancer; those mutated cells take over in the bone marrow, and there’s no room for healthy blood cells. It was a long, terrifying, and bumpy road since then - immunotherapy, a failed stem cell transplant, a bacterial infection, a respiratory infection, inpatient chemo therapy, constant labs, tests, blood transfusions, and so many visits to Roswell we lost count. In February 2022, we learned that my dad had stopped responding to all treatments. Our focus then became prolonging his life through transfusions and making the most of every precious day with our family. On April 29, 2022, my dad passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. He was my favorite person on the planet and my best friend. We are simply lost without him.
I've ridden in the Ride for Roswell before (as has my dad!), but this is the first year we have decided to start our own team, named Nicholas Strong, to honor my incredible dad. If there is anything we've learned over his 14-month battle, it's that we cannot do this without the love, support and strength of our family and friends.
Please consider a donation or joining the team with us! NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE!
