On April 16, 2021, our lives were turned upside down when our doctor told Christy the words no one ever wants to hear (or speak): "you have cancer". His very next words were, "you need to go to Roswell now."
Over the next several days, Christy was diagnosed with leukemia and we had a crash course in cancer treatment. Christy spent the next four weeks in the hospital and almost every day we learned more and more about what makes Roswell such an amazing place. Under the care of her medical team, she endured days of in-patient chemotherapy and four rounds of outpatient chemo. Thankfully, in November, her bone marrow biopsy revealed that she is in full remission.
Throughout Christy's treatment, we often commented that we couldn't imagine what our experience would have been like without having Roswell - the care at every level was beyond compare. To that end, it makes sense to us now to do what we can to help others access that same care at Roswell and to help advance cancer research and bring an end to this devastating disease.
2022 was the first Ride for the Petal Power Team and I'm excited to be able to participate again this year in the 2023 Ride for Roswell.
Please help me raise critically needed funds to support the thousands of patients who turn to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center for hope each year. Your donation provides funding researchers need right now to investigate new treatment options that could save lives. For every dollar donated, Roswell Park can leverage an additional $13 in new grant funding!
I hope you will consider donating today!
