Hello. This year is my 11th year riding in the Ride for Roswell. I can't believe it has been over a decade since cancer took my husband Joe from my boys and me. We have committed to ride every year in Memory of Joe in an effort to raise money and support cutting-edge research and compassionate patient care at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
My father was diagnosed with laryngeal cancer and is still being treated at Roswell, pushing my boys and I even harder to raise funds for Roswell, and I like to think that us as riders helped by raising funds to pave the way for the research!
Sadly, cancer is still affecting my family and friends. There are many success stories and new treatments for many cancer patients, yet there are still so many cancers that need more research for better treatments. My beautiful cousins Johanna and Peggy were taken from us this past year, and I am dedicating my ride this year in their memory.
Thinking about all that cancer has taken from my family and friends is what pushes me to ride. Do you have anyone that pushes you to help? Almost everyone knows someone who has been touched by cancer in some way, so please donate to help change this. Any amount helps..........together we can find a cure. Thank you!
