"... I am determined to make 2019, my year. I have finally finished that chapter of my life and am ready to turn the page and make this year the best year yet."
That's what I told myself last year, yet it turned out to be the hardest year yet. Yes, 2019 sucked and my body took a beating. Another 10-hour surgery and a double regimen of high dose chemo and stem cell transplant that landed me in the hospital more than I care to reflect upon. Neither of which I told myself I would have to deal with in 2019. Yet here we are, I made it through and we're onto another chapter in the story. It was mentally the toughest year of my life and I am so happy it is all over.
I am very fortunate that through my journey I have had minimal complications and have always been able to bounce back quickly. Miraculously I was back to work 2 weeks after my surgery in May 2019 and somehow managed not to catch a fever or infection while my body had absolutely zero immunity. I am also very fortunate to have found an understanding of how my mind works and recognizing the things that make me happy and keep my brain occupied when times are tough.
This year I am determined to continue learning about myself and expanding my mind creatively. There are a lot of things I would like to do and skills I would like to develop, I just hope that sickness stays out of the way.
I'm very excited to once again be riding with my favorite team of coworkers, friends, and family, known as Team Marketing. We're a happy, energetic bunch, putting the most positive energy into every mile we ride.
I welcome you to consider donating to my 2020 Ride, because THIS year, is going to be a great year!!
