As most of you know, one of the stations I work for is WGR 550. We want to raise awareness and pre-screening for all types of cancer with specific focus on those that most affect men, like prostate cancer and colon cancer. Cancer affects everyone - young, old, male, female, all races and religions. Of course, we want everyone to be aware of the danger signs and to get tested and of treated. It is traditionally more difficult to get men to follow this path of prevention and treatment before it's too late. There are probably a number of reasons why, but as the radio voice of the Buffalo Bills and Sabres, we feel we're in a unique position to try to change that.
In addition to raising awareness and testing, we hope to raise some money for research and the search for a cure. That's why myself, Jeremy White, Chris "Bulldog" Parker and others created the Men of WGR team for the Ride For Roswell. My mother in law Frances Fisher died of breast cancer. My mother Elizabeth was fortunate enough to survive her battle with the same disease. I'm sure everyone on this email has been affected in one way or another by the disease.
I don't send these types of messages out very often, but if you can see your way to make a donation I'd be very grateful.
