When someone gets a cancer diagnosis, they feel powerless, confused and scared. Their family and friends feel unhelpful, uneducated and unprepared.
These feelings are familiar to me, as my friends, my mother and I, myself, have undergone breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.
I haven't publicly shared that I am a cancer survivor, as I thought the label made me seem weak, when in reality, I am strong. Now, a few years out, I realize that the identity—my identity—of being a cancer survivor reflects my strength, and my commitment to fighting cancer for myself, and for my community.
For the past 25 years, I've been working alongside Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center to fight cancer through raising awareness, bringing together the community and fundraising. This year, please support me, and Roswell through a donation to the Ride for Roswell.
Your support would mean the world to me, and could mean saving the life of another.
Proudly,
Lynn
