To me, this ride is special. It is a way to give back and honor those who are fighting or have passed because of this disease. More and more people are living longer or even beating cancer because of all the research being done with the funds raised by this ride.
Who do I ride for?
I ride in memory of my mother who passed away from lung cancer 20 years ago.
In memory of my grandfather and grandmother who passed away from lung and colon cancer. They are now reunited with their daughter.
In memory of my step-mother, Veronica. She courageously fought breast cancer for 15 years! She was an inspiration to us all. Even when it came back 3 different times, she never let it define her. She was brave until the very last day. I don't think we would have had those 15 years without all of the research and new drugs out there for her to try.
In memory of my step-father, Michael. He passed away this summer after a brave battle with lung cancer. When he was first diagnosed, they gave him 6 months, but with the treatments that were available they were able to keep him in maintence for over two years. We are grateful for that additional time we had with him.
I am also riding in honor of my sister, Desiree who is currently in remission, my grandfather, Frank and all my other friends and family who are fighting this battle.
Please consider donating!! Every single dollar matters!!!
