Greetings my friends,
We all have a life journey that is unique. The trip can’t be perfect because it takes some less fortunate events to make us fully appreciate all the good things in life.
I’d like to share this short narrative about Roswell Park Cancer Institute and my experiences. Jane and I started participating in fundraising for RPCI many years ago. It was an easy choice because we’ve all had friends or family members who received the dreaded news of a cancer diagnosis. We’ve enjoyed the experience and raised a notable amount of money over the last 15 plus years and yet never expected to need the services they provide. That changed on April 1st when the GI specialist announced Jane had a pancreatic tumor. Weeks of testing, challenging times and insurmountable darkness followed while we chased the best curative options. Next the decision to pursue a chemotherapy treatment, while genetic testing was underway. The results have been promising and Jane has done her part in working towards the miracle of remission. Her strength, resolve and attitude currently have us over 1/2 way through the Empire State Ride, which supports RPCI Cancer Trials. She continues to impress and amaze each of us on the Holiday Valley Team.
Although I’ve been distracted from my normal fundraising duties, I’d like to invite you to support her ride as we head to Niagara Falls on Saturday. Thank you for your consideration and reading this message.
Here’s wishing you good health and the ability to follow Jane’s great attitude about life!
Dennis
