Thank you everyone who donated to my Ride for Roswell, I am overwhelmed with your support and kind words. My next fundraiser is the Empire State Ride for Roswell, where I plan to ride from Manhattan to Niagara Falls over 7 days at the end of July. I have to say up front I might not ride every one of the 540 miles, but I'll make an attempt every day.
April 1st I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer...not anything I would have expected since I have been so healthy and active all my life. But that's the thing about cancer. It can affect anyone, often for no apparent reason.
I've been getting treatments at Roswell, making me even more committed to fundraise for this amazing facility. The doctors, nurses and all the staff are truly committed to helping every one of their patients. The facility is state of the art. But perhaps the thing that impresses me most is the respect and caring attitude every single Roswell employee has shown to me and my family.
I'm asking you to help me support Roswell's important research and wonderful patient care. I'm shortening my route this year to 45 miles, but each one of those miles will help us beat this devastating disease!
I will continue to ride in memory of my mom who was a patient at Roswell in the '70's. But I am hoping you will also think of me on June 25th and send some good thoughts my way. May our ride and the funds we generate continue to find cures through breakthrough research and treatments.
