Why do I ride??? I ride for a cure... I ride for those that can’t.
I have been supporting/riding of Roswell for almost 10years now. I would be lying if I said that it wasn't personal to me. When my Brother-in-Law Doug was diagnosed with Carciniod Cancer I decide to start a team to Ride! For years we rode in Honor of Doug, and last year we rode in Memory of Doug!
Last year we renamed and dedicated our team to our cousin Claudette! Claudette was one of the funniest people you would meet! Never would you face her without a smile our her face. Within minutes of meeting Claudette you would be smiling and laughing too! Her laughter was second to her kindness and love for others! We lost Claudette only days before we rode in her honor last year (we did our own special route) She continues to pull people together even now! We miss you Claudette... I know you and Dougie are cheering us on from HEAVEN!
~Isaiah 40:29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.~
So... if you have even $1 dollar to donate I would truly appreciate it! If not that is ok too... just please take a moment to say a prayer!
Every year I add ribbons to my jersey with a friend or family members name on it, please let me know if you have anyone you would like me to add to my jersey! I will wear it with pride! It would be my honor!
One last note... over the past years I have the privilege and honor to volunteer with Goin Bald for Bucks, Hockey fight Cancer, (TLC) Teens Living with Cancer Prom, and Courage of Carly Prom. Working with these teens battling cancer, truly gives you a new perspective on life and what real hero is! You will always be in my heart ♥and your ribbons will always be on my jersey!!!
May God bless all of you that took time to read my story!
Doug and Claudette, you will forever be loved and missed!!!
