Today is double donation day for the ride starting at 10am.  If you are still interested in donation to my page and are able the sooner you post a donation the better chance it will be doubled.  I am doing the same as I haven't donated yet.

The fight against cancer goes on. There is no one I know who can say they DO NOT have a friend or relative who is or has battled this terrible illness.

Many of you know this has become a yearly event for me to participate in the Ride for Roswell. I ride with The Fighting Irish Fighting Cancer team who will be making their eighteenth consecutive appearance in the Ride for Roswell. Despite the team name you do not have to be Irish or have attended Notre Dame to ride with us. All you need is to be someone who wishes to see a cure for cancer in your lifetime. We are also accepting support from those who do not wish to ride. By supporting any of the team members you are supporting the team. Last year we raised over $40,000 reaching a quarter of a million dollars during the 17 years of participation in The Ride.

Your donation provides funding that researchers need to investigate new treatment options that could save lives in our community and around the world. It is a community-developed event run by volunteers and RPCI staff. It honors cancer survivors and remembers those who have lost their lives to cancer.

 I became involved a few years ago when my niece and stepdad were battling this horrible disease. My niece survived after many rounds of treatment and a stem cell transplant. No small undertaking for any human!  My stepdad did not. With that said, their courage during their battles to fight and endure the treatments are a testament to the hope available because of donations like yours.

My goal this year is $1000.  I am dedicating my ride this year to all those I know who have cancer right now or have lost the battle. Please help me raise critically needed funds to support the thousands of patients who turn to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center for hope each year. For every dollar donated, Roswell Park can leverage an additional $13 in new grant funding!
