One in two men and one in three women in America being diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Think about that... 1/2 of all men will be diagnosed with cancer .... 1/3 of all women will be told that they have cancer. Cancer took my dad, two of my four grandparents, and countless friends and acquaintances, let alone the people who are fighting now or have battled and won (or at least fought to a draw).
I can't do cancer research. I'm not a doctor or nurse who can treat or care for patients. My little part to help is battle cancer is to raise some money to support the people who do the research and care for the patients. This will be my 17th consecutive year participating in the Ride for Roswell, which is one of the largest charity bicycling events in the United States. I have decided return to the 30 mile Riverfront ride from UB, along the Niagara river, through the Linde campus, and winding through several WNY suburbs. I will once again be riding with my friends Stuart Rubin and Pete Mayer and hope to recruit another family member or two to join us. Here's hoping for nice weather and maybe a tail wind for the home stretch!
You can make a difference in the fight against cancer by supporting me in The Ride For Roswell. Funds raised through The Ride support cutting-edge research and compassionate, innovative patient care programs at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Please consider making a donation today. Together, we can help find cancer cures and save lives.
Oh, and one more thing: If your employer offers a matching gift program, please submit your match early. That way you don't have to remember, and the organization gets the extra money to move forward with their critical mission!
Thanks for your support!!
