Eleven years ago, my dear friend Gina passed away a year after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. She was 47 years old, and had been my friend for 27 years, and my wife's friend for even longer. We were devastated; we wanted to do something. What could we do?
We found the Ride for Roswell. Roswell Park has been fighting cancer for longer than I have been alive. The Ride for Roswell provides desperately needed unallocated funds. These funds provide nonmedical services to improve the quality of life of cancer patients and their families. Even more important, these funds can be used as seed money for generating new grants. Roswell Park Cancer Institute has a history of turning $1 of donation into $15 of received grants. Without this fundraising, the grants would not be received.
I have been participating in this fundraiser for 11 years now. With your help, and the help of other team members from the Toastmasters community, we have raised over $15,000.
Please consider joining the team and being a fundraiser yourself, or make a donation to Roswell Park Cancer Institute to fight this scourge. Donate today, and together, we can make a difference!
