I started out raising funds for cancer research when my family was all riding. I only just started riding 6years ago, but have been very active in helping them run a beer blast, gift card raffle, and Chinese auction at the beer blasts. I don't know anyone who hasn't been affected by this dreadful disease, and I am no exception. Although I have been fortunate enough to not have cancer myself- I have lost a sister to multiple myeloma, a brother in law to lung cancer and just 2 years ago, my dear Father to prostate cancer.   More recently, a friend also passed from multiple myeloma . I know many survivors, and sadly many who have not made it.
