Despite starting to feel my age, I have decided to ride again in the Ride for Roswell in June. This is much more than a bike ride for me — it’s my commitment in the fight to end cancer. We all know so many people who have lost the fight against cancer and many who are still fighting that fight. We all know so many people affected by cancer, and it needs to STOP!
Every year I ride for someone special in my life who has cancer or who has passed from cancer. I started this back in 2014 when a very good friend died from pancreatic cancer. This year I am riding for three special people. My brother-in-law, Arsene Gerber, had the pleasure of "ringing the bell" this past year after a fight with pancreatic cancer, and I thankfully ride in his honor. Two friends passed away this year from cancer, Sharon Weinstein and Heather Stephens, and I ride in their memory. Just this month, I found out that my 55-year old nephew, Doug Ellman, has colon cancer. I am adding him to the list of people I am riding for and praying that he gets to ring the bell in the future!
Please help me raise critically needed funds for cutting-edge cancer research and compassionate patient-care programs at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Your donation to my ride might provide the funding that the researchers at Roswell Park need in order to investigate new treatment options that can save lives. These therapies can provide cutting-edge treatment choices to patients in our own community and in cancer centers worldwide.
You can make a difference in the fight against cancer by supporting my fundraising efforts. In fact, for every dollar donated, Roswell Park can leverage an additional $13 in new grant funding!
Please consider making a donation today to help me reach (and exceed) my fundraising goal. Together, we can help find cancer cures and save lives. If you have donated to my Ride in the past, thank you for your past donations and I hope that you can support me again this year. If you are a new supporter of my Ride, thank you so much for joining me on this journey!
