With one in two men and one in three women in America being diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, most of us know someone who has been affected by this devastating disease. You can make a difference by supporting me in The Ride For Roswell. Funds raised through The Ride support cutting-edge research and compassionate, innovative patient care programs at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Please consider making a donation today. Together, we can help find cancer cures and save lives.
Personally, cancer has affected several members of my family. My Grandmother Olga and my aunt Pierrette passed away after battling the disease, and my uncles Richard and Jim have both beat their cancer battles. I have had over 20 moles removed and I wear SPF 100 sunscreen so that I don't tempt fate with skin cancer.
I rode the 30 mile river route in 2014, the 45 mile country route in 2015 and 2016, was a virtual rider for 2017, rode the 44 mile Canada route in 2018, the 45 mile country route in 2019, did not ride in 2020 due to the global pandemic, "Rode my own way" in 2021, the 45 mile country route in 2022, and returned to the 44 mile Canada route in 2023! This year I have decided to challenge myself both with fundraising and physicality- I have signed up for the 65 mile country route for 2024!! I cannot wait to be back on a bike outdoors with the wind on my face, crushing cancer one push of the pedal at a time! :)
Last year was my biggest year for fundraising ever, so I know that it's possible to continue growing and doing even more good for Roswell! This year I've set my goal to $2,000- any amount and spreading the word will help me meet and beat my goal! :)
