This year I plan to ride 43 miles (the 20-mile River Route, plus 23 miles to get from home to the starting point and back). I will be riding in honor of Dr. Mike Busk, my former roommate whom I have known since our days at Notre Dame. Mike is undergoing rigorous treatment for cancer, but has maintained an incredibly positive attitude. My bike will be the Schwinn Continental which Mike remembers strapped to the front of my Oldsmobile Omega as we drove to our apartment in Chicago back in 1979.
I am once again a member of a great team, "Fighting Irish Fighting Cancer", composed of Notre Dame alumni and friends. My goal is to raise $2,500 in 2023, a big increase over last year's goal made possible by my confidence in the donors who were so generous last year. Any support you give me or any other rider will help. Also, please send me the names of anyone affected by cancer whom you would like me to pray for while I ride. You need not be a donor to request those prayers.
Thank you for your generosity in supporting me on the Ride!
