I am at it again!! Riding with a heavy heart from the loss of my beautiful mother!  She passed away June 2021 as she lost her battle with Gastric Adenocarcinoma. Aka Stomach Cancer. My mother had donated generously to my ride for the past 10 years. She has always supported me in everything that I’ve ever done. I am overwhelmed with sadness that she has passed. It was a short battle because once the symptoms were there it was too late. It’s something that you never want to hear anyone having and especially not my mommy! I have fundraised for many years never expecting that someone as close as my mother would need Roswell. When she was diagnosed one of the first things I thought was that she needs to come here! They had taken such good care of her here and know that if anything could of been done to help her they would of done it. Thank you so much for visiting my Ride For Roswell Fundraising page!! I started riding with my BFF Monica in August 2010 for a mini Grand Island Ride and then consistently every year in June from 2011 to this year again in 2023. So this is the 14th year for me but 13th year in Team Miles For Monica! Woo hoo!! I have collected enough to be included in the Extra Mile Club almost every year except 2012.  So my goal is to help Roswell again with over $2500 in Fundraising and get in the club with my BFF who collects over & above every year!! Monica is my inspiration in her great fundraising and in life!! I hope to be able to ride in the Opening Ceremony Peleton along side her again this year and need your help!! Roswell needs your help!!! In 2021 I had a record year due to many of you and hope to keep up the momentum this year and years to come! Cancer Sucks!!! When I first rode in Aug 2010 I didnt know who to put down on the card to attach on my bike to whom I was riding in support of or memory of fortunately at that time! Unfortunately that has changed quite a bit over the past 14 years now. Never could I imagine it would hit me as hard as it did the year losing my mom! My BFF Monica herself, as in our team name, Miles For Monica, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  She had a double mastectomy , radiation treatment & chemotherapy and is thankfully now Cancer Free!! Since even then every time I turn around I hear of Cancer striking again to a friend or family member! My father in law had lung cancer, my sister-in-laws, both with breast cancer & my dear friend Derek Green that lost his battle in April 2016. My good friend Jess also had it and thankfully has beat it with Roswell’s help and was fortunate to be able to ring the bell to be cancer free! I am so very heartbroken to have to add my mother now to the list. I regretably now have many cards to fill out and am hope that you can help and donate to this great cause & help with my fundraising goal so that we can help Roswell kick Cancers butt!!! Every little bit helps!! Team Miles for Monica has raised over $250,000 so far to help over our years as a team and year after year and am proud to be a part of it! We started with just 7 member and are not up to over 25 members as of last year!!! We are looking to expand our team and looking for new members!! All ya need is a bike & a passion to help in the strive to beat this stupid diease that seems to keep touching all of our lives in some way!
